6 Awesome Feminist Books in French

Bonjour,

To celebrate this very important day, I made a special episode for you.

Today, I’m sharing 6 awesome feminist books in French: 2 bandes dessinées, a non-fiction “essai”, an adventure story, a book about periods (yes, THAT period) and a list of jobs for girls who don’t want to become princesses.

You’ll discover new writers, heroines and ideas for all ages and genders.

You’ll also find most of these books in your own language, if you’re not yet ready to read a full book in French. 🙂

Hope you like this episode as much as I enjoyed preparing it.

Books mentioned in this episodes (I put Amazon links but I recommend you buy them at your local bookshop):

Les Carnets de Cerise : Le zoo pétrifié : (English translation: Cici’s Journal)
Les culottées : (English translation: Brazen: Rebel Ladies Who Rocked the World)
King Kong théorie (English translation: King King Theory)
Voyage d’une Parisienne à Lhassa (English translation: My Journey to Lhasa)

Also recommended:

“Fallait demander” by Emma (HUGE success in France):
(English translation: You should’ve asked)

Et toi ?

Did you know of any of the French women mentioned in this episode?

Bonne journée,

Géraldine

  • Merci beaucoup pour cette video, Geraldine! 🙂 I´m a beginner in the frensh language, but I really enjoy each of your contributions.

Why I mention this nouvelle about love? Because feminismn is easy to understand: It`s all about love and respect. Besides, Groult has written many books about the topic, but I rather like books who tells a story as pure theory-books (they have less charme in my opinion).
