Restos, Brasseries & Salons de Thé: French Places to Eat or Drink

Bonjour !

In France, you can get a meal or a drink in many different places.

“Restaurants”, “brasserie,” “bar-PMU”…

Which one should you go to?
What’s the difference?
Where else could you get a coffee?

Today I want to share with you these subtleties of the French way of life.

Et toi ?

Did you know of all these places already?
Which one doesn’t exist in your country?
Which one could you add to the list from your own country?

Bonne journée,

Géraldine

  • This really is a useful topic. When we think about it you can’t visit anywhere without sooner or later looking for something to eat and drink, and having a few helpful pointers from a local person is such a big plus. Ça c’est toi Géraldine ~ merci beaucoup.

  • As someone who is interested in languages, my I make a few suggestions
to improve your English? Do not use “meet-ups” in place of meetings.
Meet-ups is bad bad English. And “invite” is a verb, not a noun — please
    use invitation instead.
    With best wishes,
    Molly

  • Bonjour Geraldine! Iknew of all those options for food/drink but didn’t know the words for bar – le zinc”. The only thing we have here that I have ne er seen in France is the drive-thru(thank goodness)
