Learn French the easy way… with games!

Salut !

Ca va ?
Learning French usually implies boring grammar books, thousands of conjugation exercises and endless lists of vocabulary… See what I mean? 🙂

I have good news for you :

There is another way to learn useful vocabulary, bawdy French expressions and discover popular culture figures…

With GAMES.

And I’m not talking about boooooring educational games! No!

Here are a 5 games I play in French that YOU can use with your French friends, expat friends, neighbours, family…
When you play with your partner, feel free to bet some interesting stuff such as « who’s gonna wash the dishes », « who’s gonna cook next week »… Or more intimate bets.

  • When I was au pairing I would play a lot of games with the kids I looked after, but the one that taught me the most vocabulary was mille bornes. I learnt all about cars. How to say that you had run out of petrol, or been in an accident. It was such cool game especially for little boys. We don’t have anything like that in South Africa, where I am from.
thanks so much for such an amazing website.

  • Dear Geraldine. I really love your weekly email. We used to live in Paris, as my husband was working there. We then moved to French speaking Belgium, and now we are in Sussex England. However we have an appartment quite near you in Champagny en Vanoise near Moutiers. I should be writing this in Frence, but am in a hurry. !! In Champagny when we are there we give English lessons to adults twice a week, and we really enjoy it. I suppose I could use these games for teaching English?? I would be interested to know. Thank you for your emails again I look forward to getting them.

    • Hi Marion, YES indeed! You can use these games in English too. This sounds like a great way to learn English with you!
