Well. Part true. But instead of freaking out and sticking to emails, prepare and practice what you can. Which is: the beginning of the call. The « bonjour, blablabla. »

Here are the scripts to follow. Hit the « listen » button to listen to the text.

Note: We don’t use the « Géraldine Lepère speaking » when we pick up the phone. Just say « Allo » ou « Oui » ou « Bonjour ». If you are a professional, it is slightly different.

Tip: PRACTICE! You will loose all your self confidence if you mumble your first 2 phrases!

Julie is your friend. You call her on her phone.

– Allo ?
– Salut Julie, c’est Géraldine. Ca va ?
– Ca va super, et toi ?
– Super. Je t’appelais pour…

You call at Julie’s home and somebody else answers

You met Julie at a party and have to remind her who you are

– Allo ?

You call Miss Julie Dean at her place but you are not sure this is her
